Taste of The World – Riyadh Experience

To attend an event held for the first time in your country, that is big for real! Am very lucky to have the opportunity to be one of the many who had the pleasure to meet Michelin stars winners international Chefs and restaurants in #taste_of_the_world Riyadh , #taste_of_Riyadh

14 restaurants were part of the tasting menu of the event, in addition to local cafes. Smartly designed wrest bands is given to you at entrance – depending on your ticket grade – you get 2 dishes for standard ticket and 3 dishes and a drink if your ticket is VIP. You can charge the wrest band any time by any of the nearest guys with recharging machines on – they were available everywhere around us, it wasn’t difficult to reach or slow to serve at all.

Every restaurant offers 2 dishes of thier popular/top sellers and one exclusive item for #tate_of_the_world festival. The items can be anything of: starters, main course, dessert, or drinks. It is very difficult to try everything! Even though i starved myself for two days ahead 😂, but that plan didn’t work. So going with a group was an excellent plan for my experience, i tried as many items as i could.

One of the best things i liked about this event was “portion size” it was just about right for you to enjoy, and to try other items from other places with absolutely ZERO WASTE! They really succeeded to reduce the waste, to me this is a bonus! Well done👌🏼and believe it or not, the items were that good that you can’t leave anything behind 😋

The experience for me was not just good food! meeting passionate Chefs explaining their invented dishes with love and how did they add a special #Saudi touch, and how happy they were to be part of this first time event in #Riyadh.. That.. Right there was the most enjoyable part of my experience

Now, the items i tried were many 😅, so the article will be way too long if i analyze them all! I will put as many pictures as possible and will write below the picture a little description about what i perceived and by which restaurant was it, deal?

My personal favorite Ras Al Hanout BBQ beef brisket (festival exclusive) amazing combination of textures and blend of flavors by Paul Ainsworth
My 2nd favorite Linguine, basil, prawn, caviar and my favorite touch of the dish “saffron” by IDA
Vitello Tonnato by Sartoria we tried the Fettuccine Cacio e Pepe Rosa – lightly seasoned yet flavorful
Truffle Pudding – strong truffle flavor for truffle lovers by Roganic
Cheesy Rigatoni by IDA
Sicilian Arancini by Paul Ainsworth
Spiced Buttermilk chicken bun by Paul Ainsworth

We also tried: 1- Aloe Vera and pomegranate by Sylvestre Wahid, and 2- Yuzu & Kaffir Lime leaf Laban by Arcane – both exclusive items

There were many live shows happening in parallel, musical, entertaining, competitions, live cooking lessons by international chefs. One of the shows that made big crowd was the Fire Pit. It was hosted by the Saudi chef Rakan Alorafi with participation of other talented saudi chefs. The show was lively, creative, full of energy and very fun to attend. They prepared whole lamp live and we were dying of the released aromas! They distributed those with complementary aromatic rice

It was a brilliant event, we were thrilled and honored to welcome all chefs in #Saudi, hoping that this will take place on annual basis in our beloved city #Riyadh

Finally, i would like thank #Almarai for the VIP ticket, also i wouldn’t enjoy it without the wonderful company of Nada Alfattah, Bashayer AlGhahaity, and Salha Alfattah ❤️💕
